Liz Kahn’s distinctive blend of traditional and modern design is deeply rooted in her upbringing. Raised by an acclaimed graphic designer father and a mother with a strong eye for fashion, Liz grew up immersed in thoughtfully curated interiors and beautiful objects. From an early age, she was surrounded by modern art, exceptional design, and timeless antiques. Weekends were often spent antiquing throughout the South and, later in her teenage years, exploring markets and estates in the Hamptons and Connecticut. With family homes frequently under renovation, Liz developed an early appreciation for architecture, craftsmanship, and the transformative power of design — experiences that continue to shape and inspire her aesthetic today.
After graduating from Emory University, Liz began her professional career in tech marketing. In 1998, she and her husband, Josh, began purchasing, redesigning, and flipping homes — a venture that sparked her true passion for interior design. What began as projects for friends quickly evolved into a growing client base.
In 2015, Liz founded Liz Kahn Design. Since then, she has led projects across California, Montana, Florida, and New York City. In 2023, she expanded the firm with the launch of a New York City office, deepening her focus on East Coast projects. Today, Liz creates homes nationwide that are inviting and deeply personal — spaces that balance sophistication with comfort and beauty with practicality.
